The challenge was to design a user-driven mobile app for a user with a micro-tasking mobile mindset. Through interviews and analysis of the user’s mobile habits, it became clear that she needed a one-stop app to record both written and visual notes together.
Noter veers away from the sterile office-like appearance of Notes and instead opts for the photo-centric appeal of Instagram, but without the social pressure. With Noter, the user can quickly jot down lists and ideas wherever inspiration strikes, browse past notes, and even view a map of where those notes were created.
The app design features square brackets - brackets used to enclose words added by someone other than the original speaker. In this case, Noter acts as the basic structure that the user personalizes by adding their own content.
